Mother's Day in Reston 2027: brunch, events and gift markets

Mother’s Day 2027 is Sunday, May 9. No Reston restaurant or venue had announced Mother’s Day plans when we checked in October; most post menus in April. This page lists the places that serve brunch every weekend, the markets and gardens nearby, and what Reston had on the calendar around Mother’s Day 2026.

Brunch

These restaurants say on their own sites that they serve weekend brunch. Book early for Mother’s Day; Sunday brunch is the busiest service of the year at most of them. Full list in our Reston brunch guide.

For a quieter morning, Lake Anne Coffee House, 1612 Washington Plaza N., serves breakfast and coffee on the plaza from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays; 703-481-9766.

Markets and gifts

Reston Farmers Market, Lake Anne. The Park Authority market runs 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays at 1609 Washington Plaza N.; Saturday, May 8, is the day before Mother’s Day, and the market should be open: its 2026 season ran April 25 to Nov. 21. Reston Town Center shops. The town center directory lists its shops, among them Scrawl Books, Paper Source and Paddywax Candle Bar, for a gift on the way to brunch.

Outings

Meadowlark Botanical Gardens, Vienna. NOVA Parks’ 95-acre garden of ornamental and native plants is in Vienna, just southeast of Reston. Admission is charged; NOVA Parks posts special early openings and late closings on its social media.

The W&OD Trail and Lake Fairfax Park. Both are open on Mother’s Day: the W&OD from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Lake Fairfax Park with its playground, trails and picnic shelters. See our walking and biking trails guide.

Reston Museum, 1639 Washington Plaza, on Lake Anne Plaza, opens 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.

Last year: around Mother’s Day 2026

Mother’s Day 2026 was Sunday, May 10. Around it, Reston Town Center’s calendar carried:

• Pups in the Pavilion, a weekly Wednesday evening dog meetup, 5 to 7:30 p.m. from May 6.
• Tephra ICA Arts Festival, the 35th annual, with more than 200 artists, Saturday and Sunday, May 16-17, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Reston Concerts on the Town, the free Saturday summer concert series, which opened May 16 at 7:30 p.m.

The Park Authority’s Spring Farm Day at Frying Pan Farm Park, 2709 West Ox Road, Herndon, was Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with baby animals, sheep shearing and wagon rides, the county said.

What this means for you
