Father’s Day 2027 is Sunday, June 20. It lands at the end of a busy week: school ends Wednesday, June 16, and Friday, June 18, is the Juneteenth holiday, so many Reston families get a long weekend. The big Father’s Day tradition nearby is the antique car show at Sully Historic Site.

Sully Antique Car Show

The Park Authority’s 51st Annual Sully Antique Car Show was held on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Sully Historic Site, 3601 Sully Road, Chantilly. It had:

  • Hundreds of antique and classic cars, with judging and awards through the day
  • Restoration and specialty car displays
  • Live music, food vendors and a kids’ tent
  • The chance to explore Sully’s history

2026 tickets: online through June 19 at $12 for adults 16 to 64, $10 for seniors 65 and older and $8 for children 15 and younger; at the gate, $15, $12 and $10. Car owners registered their cars online. The 2027 show, which would be the 52nd, had not been announced when we checked; we will add the date when the Park Authority posts it.

In Reston

Reston Concerts on the Town. The town center’s free Saturday night concerts in the Pavilion run through the summer; on Father’s Day weekend 2026, the Pat McGee Band played Saturday, June 20, at 7:30 p.m., with Sip & Stroll drinks from 6 p.m., the town center’s calendar shows.

Jazz Happy Hour with Darden & Friends. In 2026 the town center ran this free Friday series at Reston Town Square Park from 5:30 p.m., May 22 through June 26.

Lake Fairfax Park and the Water Mine. The water park at 1400 Lake Fairfax Drive opened May 23 in 2026, so it is normally open by Father’s Day. The park also has fishing on its 20-acre lake with a Virginia fishing license, boat rentals and a pump track. See our parks and trails guide.

Brunch and dinner

These restaurants say on their own sites that they serve weekend brunch. Father’s Day menus are posted by each restaurant; book ahead.

  • Founding Farmers Reston Station, 1904 Reston Metro Plaza: buffet brunch 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
  • Makers Union, 1811 Library St.: weekend brunch 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; a pub where you can watch the game at the bar.
  • Sixty Vines, 11905 Market St.: brunch 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
  • North Italia, 11898 Market St.: brunch 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Juneteenth closures

Juneteenth 2027 is observed Friday, June 18, on the FCPS calendar. On Juneteenth 2026, Fairfax County libraries were closed and Fairfax Connector ran holiday weekday service. County trash pickup runs on every holiday except Christmas Day.

What this means for you

Buy Sully car show tickets online before the cutoff; they were $3 cheaper per adult than at the gate in 2026. If you are staying in Reston, the Saturday concert and Sunday brunch make an easy weekend.
